Meet Mariah Tendam
LPC
Hello! I'm thrilled that you've taken the courageous step to explore counseling, and I'm genuinely excited to join you on your path to mental wellness! My approach is centered on collaboration and tailored to your needs, aiming to foster a space where you feel safe, heard, understood, and accepted. It's important to note that I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, creating a nonjudgmental and supportive environment for everyone.

In our sessions, I draw from various therapeutic modalities, including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, as well as Expressive Arts and Play Therapy Techniques when appropriate. With over 4 years of experience in the mental health field, I've worked in diverse settings including learning institutions (K-12), college/universities, community mental health centers, and private practice.

My primary focus is aimed towards supporting individuals who have experienced developmental and relational trauma. Additionally, I work with those dealing with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I have a particular interest in addressing disenfranchised grief (including pet loss), guiding through career transitions, and providing support for those with adverse religious experiences.

As we embark on this journey together, we'll explore the highs and lows of your experiences, respecting the unique landscape that is your life. Together, we'll delve into the depths of self-discovery, working towards a better understanding of the root cause of your symptoms. I look forward to supporting you and your goals for mental wellness!
