Dr. Cathleen Mcknight (She/Her) is a doctorally prepared, dually board-certified family (FNP-C) and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Dr. McKnight believes in a simplified, holistic healthcare approach to helping people on their health and wellness journey. Her professional experiences include psychiatric mental health, primary care, women’s health, clinical pharmacy advancement, professorship, and corporate health leadership.

Dr. McKnight received her bachelor’s degree in the science of nursing (BSN) from the University of Louisville (2007), a master’s degree in science (MS) with focus as a family nurse practitioner (FNP) from The Ohio State University (2010), a doctorate’s degree in nursing practice (DNP) from The University of Alabama (2013), and a post-doctoral certificate in psychiatric mental health (PMHNP) from The Northern Kentucky University. In addition, Cathleen holds a certificate of advanced education in obesity medicine from the Obesity Medicine Association (OMA) and is a North American Menopause Society (NAMS) certified menopause practitioner (NCMP).

I believe that individuals deserve a safe, nonjudgmental space to talk openly about their story. The health and medical world can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be. I work toward creating a warm and inviting environment where the client is an expert on self and the provider is an expert in support. Together, we explore health and mental wellness, pathways for progress, and best-fit care plans. Mental wellness is a journey, not a destination. My goal is to be a tool to each client through preventive and routine mental wellness, and each triumph and tribulation that they experience.

The team-based approach at Sirona Mental Wellness allows me to expand on elements of care holistically. Huddling with our therapists routinely on complicated cases provides a fresh perspective to current and potential interventions to relieve client suffering and improve quality of life.
